Cross-Platform — common questions

Should we choose React Native or Flutter?

It depends mostly on your team and your product, not on which framework is objectively better. React Native suits teams with existing React and TypeScript skills and products that share logic with a web app. Flutter suits products with heavily custom, highly consistent UI across platforms and teams happy to work in Dart. We assess both against your hiring plans and existing code before recommending one.

When is cross-platform the wrong choice?

When the product's value depends on capabilities that live close to the platform. Heavy real-time graphics, sustained low-level camera or sensor processing, deep OS integrations, and apps where every frame of interface polish is the product are usually better native. We will say so during scoping rather than after. Many products need only a small native module alongside a shared codebase, which is a middle path we use often.

Can a cross-platform app use native device features?

Yes. Camera, biometrics, secure keychain storage, push notifications, background tasks, Bluetooth and location are all reachable from React Native and Flutter through mature packages or, where needed, a thin native module we write for the platform. The shared codebase covers most of the app; platform-specific code is isolated behind a clear interface so the rest of the app stays portable.

How do you handle security on cross-platform apps?

The same way we would on native: sensitive data goes to the platform keychain or keystore rather than plain local storage, API credentials never ship inside the bundle, transport uses certificate validation, and third-party packages are vetted and scanned since a shared codebase means one bad dependency reaches every platform.
